Graphic showing advantages of dope-dyed yarns – sustainable resource use, low CO₂ emissions, excellent light fastness and custom colour development

Highly efficient dope dyeing

Yarns produced by dope dyeing exhibit outstanding colour and light fastness properties. This is a result of both the production technique itself and the physical and chemical characteristics of the pigments used. From a production standpoint, the filaments are coloured directly during melt spinning, where the base granulates and pigments, embedded in a polymer carrier, are combined through several advanced technical processes. As a result, the molten mass already has the desired colour when it comes out of the spinneret. Technofibres operates a wide range of spinning systems with different capacities, enabling small and medium batch sizes to be produced economically. Dope dyeing stands out compared to package or piece dyeing due to its reduced power consumption and extremely low CO₂ emissions. In addition to this, no valuable drinking water is required for the dyeing process.

Environmental friendliness

Dope dyeing offers both technical and ecological advantages. Unlike traditional dyeing techniques, dope dyeing requires no water, significantly reducing environmental impact. The dyeing process uses up to 95% less energy compared with package dyeing, and 98% less energy in comparison with piece dyeing. CO₂ emissions are reduced by up to 98% compared with package dyeing and 99% compared with piece dyeing.

Customer-specific colour development

Technofibres offers a tailor-made, one-stop colour development service. The customer’s colour is first measured and analysed using technical equipment. Based on these results, we develop the formulation to make the corresponding masterbatch The developed color is then directly implemented and realized on our pilot spinning line.

Excellent non-fade properties

The colour pigments used offer excellent light fastness properties, which is particularly important for textile applications in automotive interiors This feature is one of the many advantages of dope dyeing.
